Andhra Polytechnic was established at Kakinada, East Godavari District in 1946. This institution holds the distinction of being the first Polytechnic College in Andhra Region. At Present, APT offers Diploma courses in 7 disciplines with an intake of 330 students. This institution is also offering part-time Diploma courses with an intake of 600 students making the total strength 990. APT consists of well-equipped laboratories,and library with a Book strength of 15,036. The Community Polytechnic Scheme was established by M.H.R.D , Delhi. More than 4000 people in and around Kakinada were directly benefited through this scheme from its inception. This is a Government Institution that functions on the policies and procedures supported by the Government orders under the Department of Technical Education, Andhra Pradesh, Hyderabad.
